So sweet

Katelyn has been a little leery of holding Ethan so far, but our friend Heidi was able to capture this sweet picture a few days ago. Thanks Heidi!

He's here! He's here!

We are so happy to announce the birth of our first baby boy! His older sister is thrilled to have him here and we absolutely love him to death. He was supposed to be born on Friday the 3rd, but we were bumped to the next day which actually put his birthday on Sunday. So, our little Ethan David Price was born at 5:11 am on Sunday, April 5th. He was a big boy weighing in at 8 lbs 14 oz. Wow. He's just adorable and after a bit of a tricky delivery that bruised half of his face, he's here and handsome as ever. The bruises are gone and we're just dealing with some jaundice that is on it's way out as well. He just looks like he has a great tan. Katelyn loves to kiss him on the forehead and point out that he has fingers, toes, eyes and ears just like she does. Here are some pictures of our baby boy. (Oh, and did I mention that he loves to cuddle? I love it. :) )































This is how Ethan spent his first 6 days of life. He enjoyed his spa treatment at our house, but we were very happy when he didn't have to be on light bed any longer. (The second picture is a little view of the bruises he got during the delivery. Our poor baby had a rough start, but as you can see from the first pictures, has recovered very well.)

A hard day

We have been lucky enough to have Dave's sister and her brand new baby staying with us this past week. I wanted to attempt to take some pictures of her because she's so beautiful, so here are a couple of them.







Katelyn has been so good with her and loves to look at her and even kiss her on the forehead. Well, she was having a hard day that day and when I started snapping the pictures there was a bit of jealousy. Oh boy. It's hard to be 19 months old! Can you see the crocodile tears in her eyes?

It's set! He's on his way!

The date has been set! Our second little bundle of joy, our baby boy, will be born next Friday! Dave and I are really excited and I'm sure Katelyn is way excited to start her new role of being a big sister. My clothes are getting more and more limited which is another indication that the time is coming very, very soon. :) Here goes our new adventure of being a parent of two! Feel free to leave your advice of being a parent of two, a parent of a boy, or any other comment or criticism you'd like to leave. :) We'll post pictures soon!

Spring is coming!

Here are a few fun pics I took of Katelyn the other day at my parent's home because it's getting warmer and warmer. No comparison to AZ, but awesome for UT. She might not smile much for her photo shoots, but she is definitely a character. She loves to point to things, as you can see from the last couple shots. She's 18 months now and just a riot to watch.

But first, this morning when I went to get her, this is what I found. I've been trying to teach her to take her sleeper off before her baths, but she has a hard time getting her feet out. Well, it looks like she figured it out by herself! I had a good laugh over my cute naked baby who was sitting there reading her book.

Nursery!

Who would have guessed this day would ever come? As Katelyn and I walked toward the nursery today for the first time, I wondered if I was feeling sad that my baby is old enough to spend two hours of church without me. (Will she survive?? Will I survive??) Well, with all the mixed emotions, I was actually excited that the day had come and she gets to play and eat snacks and not be as quiet as Sunday School and Relief Society require.

After Relief Society, I quickly walked over the the nursery. It was all the way on the other side of the church! Okay, so I was just excited to see how she did since they never came to get me. She made it through her first day with flying colors. She never cried and even wanted to play a little longer. Good girl. She was exhausted and ready for a nap, but we were so happy and I really enjoyed being able to listen to the lessons for the first time in about 6-8 months. Ahh, we had some great lessons today.

Here she is all ready for church. She forgot to smile, but she had a lot on her mind.

Dances, toenails and decorating

So, just yesterday, Katelyn and I took a little drive to look at some car seats for the new baby and when we returned, we had such a surprise! I saw these footsteps that mysteriously led back to our room.


















I opened our bedroom door and what a surprise! My cute Dave was asking me to a dance we were going to on Valentine's Day! Let's be honest, I was only asked to one dance in High School and so I was pretty excited and just all smiles. :) How cute is he??


















Dave was already teaching his class when I saw his masterpiece. Luckily I knew he would be teaching for three hours, so I had plenty of time to plan my reply. Ha ha haaaa! What to do, what to do... I'm not very good at planning these things, but I came up with something that made him smile.

When he arrived home that evening, there was a heart with candy bars attached to the front door leading him to go play the Wii. After some encouragement that he should play right then and could wait to eat, he went downstairs to find the Wii. It led him on a scavenger hunt to three other places in the house and finally back to our room where I had this waiting...












I think he liked it. :) A lemon cake with strawberries. A favorite of his.

On another subject, if you've ever been 7 months pregnant before, you know it can get a bit difficult to reach your feet. (And yes, I'm still wearing flip flops in the snow when I can get away with it.) Well, my dear friend Heidi was over the other night and she gave me the treat of my life and painted my toenails for me. That's friendship. Well, of course Katelyn was excited for a part of the action and so we painted her nails for the first time. She absolutely loves them and loves to take off her socks and show people her pretty pink nails. What a cutie.












And here's my last picture. Ta da! I made something! I had so much fun making this for Katelyn's room! And thanks to Joy for taking the adorable pictures last year. (Yes, I need some new updated ones, but these were SO cute so I had to still use them.) I painted the frames and letter "K" brown and then modge podged some scrapbook paper to them. They will go right above Katelyn's crib as soon as I attach the ribbons. :) They haven't fallen apart yet, so Martha Stewart, watch out.
